Detracking Mathematics: Tapping Out of Segregation

This second article I co-authored. We encourage readers to dig deep in the research and history of practices of segregation and how they connect to current schooling policies. ALthough we have heavily tied these same segregation systems to mathematics, the same can be said about many schooling policies.


The picture depicts integration as the way to a better educational system but as we are more than 50 years from integration I encourage you to really think about what this has done for the education of black boys and girls. We have been and still are the most studied and least educated.


Although we, as of today, did not create this problem, we do continue these practices and we need to be the change. When you are done reading the article below please go over to article 3 for some possible solutions.
